Gas Mileage 4.6L
I know most of you guys dont like superchips or any of their products but i decided to go with them since some people i know had good luck with superchips.
First off, Superchips what a great product! I have more power than i expected. I dropped it down to pass going about 70 down the highway and squealed the tires. I am probably gonna get in more trouble now but it is worth it.
OK guys here is what i got so far. I have a 2000 4.6L F150 4x4, 5 speed, homemade FIPK, true duals, and throttle spacer.
I have driven over 2500 miles and found these results for my gas mileage
Perf 91 octane tune- 20 (if i would kept my foot out of it maybe better)
87 tune not tow- 23
Mileage XS- 25!!!!!! (i almost cried)
stock i was getting bout 20 to 21 (if i was babying it hardcore)
Haven't tried the towing tune yet or making my own settings.
What has everyone else been getting?

Tell you what, burn a tank, fill it up, burn it again and tell us your mileage.
And you never got 25MPG in a 5000LB vehicle unless you were granny shifting and staying under 55 mph.......
You never broke rubber at 70 down shifting
You are lucky if you are putting 200hp to the rear wheels.
cheese and rice.

OK guys you can think whatever you want but i did not lie/ stretch my story on my post. The streets were dry and i did screech the tires at 70. I babied the truck but at 65/70 the whole time. My truck shows 1800RPM at 70 mph, I also have a five speed so there is no unnecessary shifting. It was 4 lane driving the whole time except for a little bit of driving i did for hunting that weekend. I don't like being called a liar for something i am telling the honest to god truth about. also the throttle space did help. also i ran the tanks pretty near empty before refilling.

I just wanted to post what i found out about a programmer that not many people post about. I use f150 for help and when i found something that i thought would be of help to some people i wanted to post it since most topics have already been covered. I have much better things to do than to post a lie or not know the difference between a squeal that tires make an a belt makes.

It's physically impossible to squeal your tires at 70 MPH with a 4.6 V8 and 4WD. That throttle body spacer does nothing, it's flashy and that's it. Your straight pipes actually lowered your over all torque, and your "homemade" K&N intake gave you a grand total of 7-10 horsepower. This means that you were supposedly burning rubber at 70 MPH with about 165 horsepower at the rear wheels?
Come now, we here are not fools, yet you play us as fools. Get a video to prove it or we will keep calling you out.

Here is your help

If you are turning 1800rpm @70MPH with your 5spd manual 4.6L your set up is as follows:
3.08 rear end with 33 inch tires = no way in hell to break rubber at 70
3.31 rear end with 35 inch tires = slow as a dog with zero acceleration
3:55 rear end with 37 inch tires = killing your power train!
So here is the reality of it all. Accept your mis interpretations (I won't call you a liar) and listen to the wise guys on this site.
Do a search on Built54 and see what his set up is. That guy can break rubber and prolly Phil can too. Their gas mileage is not stellar by any means. As for your gas mileage, let that go my friend. The odds that your truck could get those numbers is one in a MILLION ergo those numbers just don't add up. I dunno maybe you have really narrow tires running 50+ PSI! Still it's a stretch.
Let me welcome you to the site and encourage you to do your research and learn from these guys. We can't get you that kind of mileage (unless you stay under 55) but they can certainly show you how to get the power you are looking for.
Good luck man.

i barked my tires going 30 in my jeep with a manual.... down shift and the wheels were forced to go slower then the jeep was, so they squeeled....
but in no way did they do it because of the power i put to them...
my 5.4 would NEVER bark the tires going 70.... not from the engine... maybe if i stood on the brakes....
