a custom tune via xcal2, xcal3, diablo or gryphoon

don't expect a million horsepower and some supporting mods will help

suchs as e-fans, underdrive pulleys, long tube headers and a tuned exhaust

x2, except the last one's spelled "Gryphon".

Look through these threads and you'll get a feel for what each offers. You're not going to find a "chip" that will do what you want.

Well, that is like asking do I want to have a big mac or a ribeye. Get the tuner, the above mentioned are the best around, but everyone will have their praises about all of them.

The only really good reason to go with a chip is to be able to change programs on-the-fly. On a gas vehicle, there is limited need for that so a programmer is most likely the better option for you. One thing to also keep in mind is that most chips are usually a bit less expensive so if you're on a budget, that might be a consideration.

Good luck.

I prefer tuner/Programmer. But what you should keep in mind, its not just about HP. Its moreso about they way your truck performs, shifting, lag, et al. While HP gains may be nominal, the change in behavior is well noticeable.
