Gryphon question regarding MPG

Just so you guys know, here's how it works.
The Average Economy runs on a average loop of up to 10,000 samples. When you reset the Average, it resets the sample count back to 0. As your sample count increases, the economy display stabilizes and becomes less "jumpy". The average calculations are also slightly "weighted" so the closer you are to the current average, the more significance the current value has. There is quite a bit of math involved to say the least.
One thing to keep in mind is that all the calculations are done based on fuel mass and anything that changes the mass of the fuel (ie. higher ethanol content, oxygenated fuel, etc.) is going to effect the calculations and may cause some degree of inaccuracy. Of course, Tire Size and Gear Ratio also need to be accurate for the economy readings to be accurate.
For what it's worth, I put 700+ miles on our Expy last month on our trip to Bean's. I reset the economy when I filled up before I left and checked it against the value when I filled up when I got home. The Gryphon was closer to the pen & paper than the actual vehicle's economy reading... within .1 MPG! This was driving both highway and local traffic and even sitting in that crappy "Christmas" traffic by the mall where the hotel was. I can't guarantee that kind of accuracy for everyone, but it's close enough for me.
Hope this is helpful.

Quick question guys. I have a a error code- P0405 (EGR) Sensor A Circuit low. I think it is telling me i need to replace or clean my egr. Everytime my truck starts i have a service engine soon light on until I clear it with the Gryphon.
My gas mileage is pretty low and ive messed with every single setting i can to figure out the best mpg. But so far everything stays almost the same. I run a Level 3 with 89 and negative shift points that supposedly helps with mpg. I am not sure what is the problem but if anyone has any suggestions please help me out. Thanks.

Hey Bill!
Well the light came on about a month ago and I have been just clearing it everytime. I need to take care of it soon. I had the programmer for about 2 or so months and then the light came on, so i dont think it is the programmer. I think it is the EGR and it needs to be replaced or cleaned. My truck has 69,000 on it. Id guess its just that time to start cleaning and replacing.
