BigDawg...that's a ripoff. The part is about $90 and is located just above the spare tire. Maybe 1/2 to 1 hour labor time. That should only run you about $200 max!

One more here, North Italy.
Last week changed the pump (€ 675.00) and rewired all the stuff to avoid the plugs that build up corrosion, everything is now soldered!
Total: €1250.00 (about US$ 1672.00!!!)
After about 40 Km happened again, it seem to be the FPDM, I got power from the wires that comes from the PCM (12 V when switch to run, drop to 10V in a while), but checking the wires to the pump, I got the positive, but not the negative, that is I have voltage between the positive and the ground but not between the positive (pin4) and his negative (pin2), could some of you tech guys confirm that the module is gone and not something else?
I will have to wait about 10 days to get the part fro the US and if it's about 90 bucks, it will be at least the double for me here.
Thanx for any advice.
Do you know where could I order it online, saving the gain of the italian vendor?

I have the same code but it runs bad intermitently, almost like I have bad fuel. So, I take the fuel pump driver module off and I'm amazed at how much corrosion is behind that module (caked white powder) and upon further inspection it is cracked and has a hole in it the size of a quarter. I'm sure that is my promblem, so I ordered another one. I guess Ford and whoever is the supplier of this module, didn't take into consideration some trucks would be driven on roads with salt?

Do you have mounted directly to the frame or on the stand off bolts?

P1233 Code

I ordered the module yesterday and got it this morning and the code is gone. The module is mounted directly to the crossmember and I am thinking I might put something between the module and the crossmember, like a piece of rubber. This module is not made up of anything different than the one I took off, so it probably will do it again if I don't do something different with it.

Supposedly the new modules are improved. It's good to hear they are off backorder now. There were 2 reasons for the backorder situation - high failure rate, and the original vendor was no longer in business. I'd still mount it on some kind of standoffs.

Unhappy Fuel Pump Driver Module

I have a 2008 4X4 F-150. I just had to spend $$467 to have the fuel pump driver module replaced. I am not sure why this exterior part would corrode. Since it is exposed to the elements shouldn't it be more weather resistant. Seems like a 2+ year old truck in the Southeast shouldn't have problems like this. Is the replacement part from Ford more substantial or should I look to have this replaced every couple of years. I have had Ford trucks for 30+ years and never had this problem. New Vendor? New Part?

Frustrated........

Ouch! I didn't the driver was that much but if a dealer did the diagnosis and install then I understand why......

The newer ones are better sealed and should use the revised mounting bolts.

But you're in the south east...thought this problem was only in road salt country.
