Gryphon mounted and programming.
Gryphon operational.
Haven't been able to drive more than around the block today. Can't go "test the power" with my 6 and 8 year old boys in the truck. Little reporters would narc me out to Mom in no time
I plan on changing the display parameters soon, keeping rpm and mph, and changing to intake air temp and instant mpg. It is snowing here in Nebraska now, so any serious power runs will have to wait, but I'll let you know how the tranny shifts feel as it is set out of the box.

I just installed the Gryphon in my 2000 5.4L and all I can say is that it holds up to its reputation. The install was extremely simple, and loading your own 'customized' tunes only takes a few minutes. Immediately after install, I set it to tune 2 which is the canned tow tune, and drove it around. I noticed immediately the get up is has way down low and how the tune allows the gears to wind out a little longer for towing purposes. After my initial runs to shake everything down, I pulled back into the driveway and adjusted things like tire size, rear gears, and the shift firmness. I set the 1-2 shift to level 5 the 2-3 to level 5 and kept the 3-4 at 0. Then I took another drive. It was about 60 degrees yesterday so the conditions couldn't be better. The truck ran better than ever, and shifts were very fast. Another thing I noticed was how well the truck stayed in the RPM's after a shift. This is also one of the benefits of the tow tune.
Overall I am very impressed with the canned tunes, and I cannot wait to burn through this last 1/4 tank in order to pump in some Premium fuel for the Performance tune. I emailed Corey my HEX code, so now I start my wait for the custom tunes I ordered. Definately wakes up the truck, and it gets out of its own way even better than before. I have always been impressed with the 5.4L, and now I have a whole new respect for it. Couldn't be more happy.
I have the MPH, RPM, IAT, and ECT on my screen. I like to see what the Intake Air Temp is, and the Cyl. Head temp. So far, I am having fun with this tuner, and cannot wait to hook up the trailer and really test it out, as soon as I get the custom tunes to account for my slight lean condition due to the CAI and exhaust.
Thank you again Corey and Bill, I received a bunch of little goodies in with my gryphon; candies, stickers, calendars, magnets, etc. You guys are truely awesome, and great at what you do. Looking forward to the custom tunes!!

Got to run it a little harder today on my way home from work. Now I can tell that level 2 would be more of a towing tune, as is its program. It can get you moving quicker from a stop, but you can seem to sense that after 45-50mph, it has done it's job. I'm sure the performance tune picks up where the tow tune leaves off, I'm assuming, with more of a kick from 30 mph on up to the speed limiter. I am very pleased with the shifting and how much more spirited the engine feels. I also just got my plugs changed last Friday, so that probably helps too. Even though I'm jumping on the pedal a little bit, I am keeping my eye on my instant mpg PID too. It's amazing how such subtle pedal inputs can affect that reading. I used to drive a VW TDI that got 40+mpg, so I'm aware of how little driving differences can add up. Our Honda Odyssey has the real time mpg meter. I've shown my wife how to use it, but she doesn't care. I will report how much mpg I gain when I decide to control myself a little better.

OK, running level 2 for a week now. First tank of gas lasted nearly 50 miles more than previous tanks. Can't say I was always easy on the gas pedal either. Did get new plugs same day as the Gryphon, so who knows exactly how much either contributed. Mileage for this tank was at 14.7 mpg. That was probably 80% city driving. Will stick with level 2 for this tank before trying out level 3.
