both, its a lot worse going real slow, like if i drive over a speed bump really slow, and then accelerate after my rear tires are over the bump, i get a good shutter. I dont do a lot of WOT driving, doesnt really seem to do it that often WOT though.

Trucks still under warranty but it only does it with the tunes, i return it to stock and take the edge out when i go to the dealer.

 

Ok, so it's not the Max rpm setting that is causing it. Sounds as if it is defintely something in the canned tunes that your truck does not like. I bet Bill's custom tune will eliminate the problem.

 

One other thought, did you make sure the default gear setting is correct or if not, did you change it to what your gears are?

 

yes Sir, i change my gear settings to 355, which is what it was set on, and changed the tire size to match the 33's i have on along with the 4% squish factor. Im just going to send it off in a day or two and then run it on 93 perf tune until my customs get in.

 

Just a thought, I think I would return it to stock before sending it in. It would bother me to send it in with a tune that was going to be replaced. I would be concerned that somehow, the stock tune gets wiped out and you need to be sure you keep it. Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I just don't take chances when it comes to things I can avoid.

 

Jim, and DaMoose - I'm certain PHP wants you to send the units to them reset to Level 0. Bill upgrades all the firmware and then he tweaks a couple of other things before he sends it back. The result is close to, but not quite an Edge, software wise. You're going to get the Gryphon back at level 0, so the truck had better match.

no, no, no, i meant that i would set it back to stock, send it in to PHP, then they ship it right back as a Gryphon and then i would have to wait for my custom tunes. While i was waiting for my tunes, i would run it on 93.

 

But running it on 93 with a stock tune will only cost you more, and not do any favours for your truck.

 

Thanks. I have heard a few issues here and there but I guess stuff like that gets blown out fo proportion on forums pretty easily. I am looking into getting a tuner here soon and there is a lot I like about the Gryphon.

 

He is saying that he is going to run the GRYPHON 93 CANNED tune when he gets his edge back after being converted into the GRYPHON, WHILE he waits for the custom tunes to arrive.
