Edge on level 0
#17
I called tech support. My unit is for a 04 - 06. I can upgrade the board for $150. After I upgrade the board it will work for 04 - 08.
Live an learn. I guess I'll pack it up and sell it. I'll see if someone here with an 04-06 would like an Edge. I have $240 in it including shipping.

I've boxed up the Evolution and it's going back to Edge tomorrow. I'll pay the $150 for the upgrade. I've made enough mistakes with this thing, I might just as well do what it takes to make it right. Then I'll have what I wanted. Plus I don't have complete assurance that my battery problems are not related to the EDGE draining my battery.
I'll pick up my Aunt today and we'll drive about six hours to just north of Green Bay and back, and I'll miss the Edge display already.

I thought about getting a used one for a minute. I was lucky to think it through I checked out how much new ones are and realized it just wasn't worth messing around with the used ones. I've bought other electronic crap for cars used and had problems with it. I think unless you found a situation where someone was giving it away it just aint worth the risk.

I got my Edge back.
They sent me a new (in the box) unit, with all the peripherals. I get a new warranty and everything. I should have bought a new one in the first place, but that is what I ended up with for about the same price in the end. You can say the took good care of me.
I'm loading it up today.

It does not hurt to use level 2 all the time, but you should never tow on level 3.

Level 1 only modifies the shifts. Level 2 gives you a lot more torque, pep, on the low end. It starts fading at about 2000 rpms. It's great if most of your driving is around town. Level 3 was the tune I ran most of the time as I do a lot of freeway and highway driving. I ran level 3 with 93 octane and it got enough better mpg over level 2, to pay for the differenece in price.

and level 2 you can run 87 or higher octain right? and level 3 you need to run 91 right?

Level 2 is written for 87, so if you run any higher, you need to bump the timing up .5 for each octane. So, if you run 89, you would need to do a +1.0. Level 3 is written for 91, so if you run 93, as I did, you need to bump the timing at least +1.0. I ran +1.25.
