How does everyone like their Gryphon tuner? Im thinking about getting one for my 2004 5.4 Screw. /Tell me your experiences please. Everything as far as MPG and performance. Oh! and what you got in your truck, CAI, exhaust, blah blah blah!

Well my truck is basically stock and I am waiting on the custom tunes, but the canned tunes have did wonders for my truck. The truck is definitely more responsive and the shifts are a lot firmer. It was definitely money well spent.

The gauges are a pretty neat thing also.

I too am waiting for my custom tune to be filed, but running the 93 octane performance with minor tweaking to the shift points, upped the timing, raised the rev & speed limiters, and it woke up the truck real nicely. Before my 0 - 60 was 9.1 seconds, now its 7.5, pulls instantly and gains speed fastly when mashed. Overall, with these results from just a canned tune, I cant wait to get my custom filed tune. Only real engine mod is exhaust.

Reason for choosing the PHP Gryphon was I love the Edge display readout letting you moniter over 100 parimeters including..

RPM (Revolutions per Minute) - Engine speed
· MPH (Miles per Hour) - Vehicle Speed
· SPARK (Ignition Timing) - Degrees Advance
· LOAD (Engine Load) - Output %
· CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) - Degrees F.
· IAT (Intake Air Temperature) - Degrees F.
· BARO (Barometric Pressure) - PSI
· BAT (Battery Voltage) - Volts
· EOT (Engine Oil Temp) - Degrees F. (2004 to 2006 Only)
· TFT (Trans. Fluid Temp) - Degrees F. (2004 and up, A/T Only)
· IMPG (Instant Miles Per Gallon)
· AMPG (Average Miles Per Gallon)
· DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code Count)

I love mine, the install was easy and straight simple, with a very informative manual and great customer service.

Well my reason was I hated the throttle lag, and everyone has talked so good on here about them, so I figured I would try one. And plus it will be able to correct my speedo when I get my bigger tires. As far as mpg, I cant say exactly...since I bought it I figure I might as well use the new found power.

Yes, it takes less than 5 minutes to install. It comes with an obdII cable, and you just plug that into its port then run the wire up the side of truck, stick the dash mount on, plug gryphon up then slide it into the dash mount, and your done.

What is there not to love about it? It's the best mod I have done. I have 52,000 miles with an Edge/Gryphon. No, I did not experience any better gas mileage but my truck was on the extreme good gas mileage already. I did not lose any and I get there a lot faster!

I do heavy towing from time to time so I need extra power with tunes and other mods. I also like how it goes nicely on top of the left dashboard and it gives 4 parameters to monitor. Defenately $$$ well spent.
JLT CAI, gryphon, and trusher exhaust. Future, headers, hi-flows, roush.
