Anyone have this problem after Edge use
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or can tell me what they think it is. I've had my Edge on for a couple of weeks now and love it. I've noticed that infrequently, when I floor it, I get this weird squealing sound, probably last 1-2 seconds. It sounds like a belt slipping and it only seems to occur when I really get on it (completely floor it) and I think when/during the shift from 3rd to 4th. Today, it did it again and I swear it sounded like it came from the rear end. Is that possible? I thought it was a belt, but now I'm starting to wonder if it is something more. It doesn't happen every time, but enough to concern me. It never did it in "stock". Any info. would be appreciated.
Also, got the Flowmaster 40 put on yesterday, 3 inch pipe to the y-pipe, si/so. Freakin love the sound. Wife............not so much, but she doesn't drive it much so she'll just have to live with it!

I do think it's belt slippage: the serpentine belt in the engine. That shift from 3-4 causes a sudden slowdown in the engine since the transmission is now shifting with less slip and it's going to cause a pulley squeak as the components spin down to match.
The first time I heard it, I thought something was broken, but, I've gotten used to it. Some people on the forum have advocated using a Gatorback belt, and you could try that. You could also reduce the 3-4 upshift firmness a bit. Try doing it in -2 point increments.
I agree, the sound seems to be coming from behind you, but I really think it's just all around you. I sort of ignore it now.
Bluejay and I commented in another thread how it made us almost have to clean out our britches the first time it happened to us.
