PHP Tune received and programmed

Well after the long wait from 3/17, I got my 87 performance custom tune by Bill on 6/4/09. Very well worth the waiting period for Bill's excellent service, with all programming done by him, and still taking care of his family, and everyone else with their tunes. Greatly appreciated and respected

As for my feedback, I haven't been able to fool around with it a whole lot, I need tires so I shouldn't make it a big habit anyways, but I am anxious to do a new 0 - 60 run. I've ran the canned level 3 tune ever since I installed it, and burned 93 octane with 1.5 timing, and adjusted RPM shifts only. So far it feels exactly the same except a little more low end energy, and a extra 25 cents per gallon cheaper. Looking forward to doing some economy records, I have a 480 mile trip coming up this week so highway will be the first test.

Otherwise, When I uploaded it into the truck's PCM I just did that only, no custom settings. Should I be alright since its custom tuned for my truck? Or is there any suggestions as to any adjustings I should make? On the canned level 3 tune I changed the 1-2 and 2-3 gear rpm shifts to 5200rpm and 3-4 to 4800 with a 5600rpm rev limit but was recently informed by Jack ( JackandJanet ) that these engines horsepower dont ban out real well past the 5000 mark and that I could be better off running those rpms 200 lower. My performance stats with the canned lvl 3 were 0 - 60 was 7.26 with my adjustments. Hoping to break that with this new tune, though being 87 octane.

But generally, I uploaded it with no other customizations. Should everything be set and good? Timing? Spark? RPM adjustments? I'm not looking to go racing or anything, just good economy, and *** kicking WOT performance. I have read BlueJay's posts about better downshifts with Bill's custom tunes and I must say I agree, down shift is much better and times better. Very satisfied with it so far.

Glad you like it. Bill does a great job. Ive had my Edge/Custom tune for a long time maybe 1-2 years? I was one the first to have it done. I remember when Mikes tune were taking 3 months to get. Everyone including myself thought it was pretty crazy. I know when bill first started he was getting them out pretty quick. Im just curious how many orders he has to be behind to be 3 months backed up. He seems to be pretty much like Mike in the amount of time to get a custom tune now it seems.

Sorry to Hijack but I thought I would get a quick response.

When PHP sends you the dash kit and gryphon display do they also send you a Hard drive from Dell? Stupid question but I had the drive show up and I wasn't sure if it's for that or something else cause I didn't order one.

Just make sure the default for the tires and gears are correct, change them if not and you are good to go.

That's funny! No, you do not get a hard drive from Dell!

If PHP offered Harddrives along with their tunes they would way break the $600 mark

I firmed my shifts up quite a bit, better for the tranny, I am at 12, 10, 4 respectively. It makes a big difference

I told him that I wanted firm shifts and that I ran a +12,+12,+9 and I wanted it to downshift at any speed. I nailed it for me.

Nice to hear you've got your new toy!

I'm 4000 miles away from home and my wife called telling me some parts came in for my truck!

Sheeesh....only two or three more weeks before i'm home again!

(Not sure what the llama's up to but he sounds pissed!)
