And, you can tell if the TC is staying in a locked state by monitoring "Comm Gear". (commanded gear). A padlock indicates the TC is locked. It should unlock immediately if you put your foot on the brake.

Yes - it's an available PID.

well on the way home here is what I noitced.

1)the Tc IS locking and unlcoking on Stock Level 0, according to the gryphon
2)The shifting is "sloppy" but has no delay.
3)the truck no longer feels like it wants to push through a redlight.
4)I felt very little in the way of loss of power from level 3 to level 0.
5) it felt like I was stopping faster, and sooner.

I did however notice it was slightly slower feeling, but not much.

The shifts while sloppy I guss, had no delay.

the truck all in all just didn't feel that much different besides the slight power loss I guess.

I dind't have enough gas (1/4 tank) to do a lot of testing, but I am not sure what else to look for.

at this point I am fairly sure everyhting on the truck at a stock setting is working like it should.

now what?

OK, go back to your custom Level 3, but this time, do not even "open" the custom options menu. Just bypass that choice and let the PCM program. Keep monitoring the Comm Gear (it really sounds like the TC may not be unlocking - it should actually unlock as soon as you take your foot off the gas, so the truck can coast without engine braking).

And, you ARE using at least 91 octane gas I hope?

Let us know what happens now.

Now, go to whatever tune you have for the octane you are running. Set the tires and gears if they need setting but don't change anything else. In other words, run a custom tune as it was written.

Yes I am using 93. and AFAIK its 93 coming through the pump.

where I am we have 87/89/93 or something like that.

I ALWAYS get gas at the same station, and the same pump even.
I won't get gas if I can't use that pump, stupid I know. but thats how I am.

I am going to full up tomorrow, has 1/4 of 93 atm. and ill see how it acts tomorrow.
and as far back as I can remember, its has 93 in it.
Even before I got the tuner I was running 93 in prep.

thanks for helping guys!

Glad to hear. Sound like making the changes after loading the tune might have been the problem.

All is well.
thanks guys.

I am pretty sure my turn is w/o the tq system, I looked at some setting on the gryphon that displayed that, it was always 0.

is that the only way to check.

I THINK you are referring to the part throttle TC lock/unlock points here in the Custom Options menu? If so, the "0" value is simply the "tune" setting, and you can go positive or negative from that. If you change it to +2, for instance, the TC should change (lock or unlock - depending on what you are changing)about two mph higher than it did at "0". I say "about", because the TC change also depends on engine load, just like part throttle shifting.
