7 months and counting...

For my custom tunes from Troyer. I'm just saying.
And yes I have been in contact with them but keep getting told I'm near the top of the list and Mike's backed up. blah, blah, blah. 7 months for custom tunes is abosolutely ridiculous. I turned in my paperwork for the tunes on 12/09 and still nothing.
Sorry, had to vent.

I'm going to wait to see what their response is to the email I sent today and go from there. If they give me the same run around I'll ask for a refund.

That sounds about standard from what I have read on this forum. I actually read one the other day. The response is that he is a programming god.

Still no reply as of this morning. And my pologies for using my Georgia math. It's only been 6 months. (as if that's even acceptable, ...not)

Six months plus for custom tunes is a load of horse manure, especially when there are others that can do it in a month. or two at the most.

The one thing that really baffles me about Troyer is that no matter how many threads are started about his customer service or products failing in the real world (E-fans), he or one of his associates HAS NOT defended the company's actions with regard to their service quality. You would think that a company that is one of the sponsors of this forum would at the least try to explain the situation (like PHP and their unfortunate family losses earlier this year), but you get nothing from Troyer as to why it takes so long for his tunes versus other programmers.

After reading all of these threads with regard to Troyer's slow service on custom tunes with no explanation from the man or his associates, I went with a different company for my tunes. This company realizes that good business is about customer retention, customer satisfaction, and customer service quality.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 6 mo. seems a little exsesive! However, you have too much time invested now to yank your money and start the wait process all over again for someone else. Ya' know what I'm sayin'?

I know exactly what both of you are saying and I couldn't agree more!
I received a response this afternoon saying I was 5th in line and it would only be a little while longer. I replied and said I've already been waiting half a year to still only be 5th in line?!!! And to please provide a time frame as to what "a little while longer" means. Man this is BS!

Chipper, you have a lot of patience. Custom tunes is on my list for my truck in the near future as well. As AZ Bill said I can't believe that no one comes on and at least attempts to offer an explanation. You're obviously not the 1st or last person that's complained about waiting an ridiculous amount of time for the tunes but at some point you just want to throw in the towel and go another direction. It would be different if they told you upfront 6 months or so and you opted to wait that long, but to be strung along is garbage. That's just bad customer service and it will catch up to them eventually. Johnny is right on though, it would suck to walk away when you're this close and have to go wait again for someone else's tunes. They are great tunes. Good luck with yours. I'll go a different direction when I'm ready.

Well I believe one of our members has been waiting 10 months for his.

Get a refund, and find a reputable Ford/Truck programmer in the area. He can have you on your way in under an hour

A good dyno shop will charge no more than what a typical plug in tuner will and can tune the truck in 1 day!
