Interpretting Data Log Info

Is there any literature, articles, etc. that I can get a hold of so that I can really understand my data from datalogging? I have a SCT and custom tune on my '06 5.4(jba, CAI, efans, 3" SI/SO) and would like to know if I have any room to add more global timing, timing in rpm ranges, WOT fuel, etc. What are the boundaries? (i.e.- max timing should not be more than XX at rpm XXXX?). My initial tune had too much timing and would ping at WOT from take off, but felt very peppy when taking off. Now the revised tune has taken care of the ping, but not as peppy taking off from stop.

Also are dyno tunes worth it. I had someone recommend a local shop in Kemah, TX.

Thanks,
Rob

Dyno tunes are really the best way to go. That way you don't have to keep fiddling with it and/or going back and forth with a mail order tuner.
