Looking at doing a tuner and a possible cold air intake this winter and im curious before doing these items is there any thing that should be done prior to tuning or installing the intake?

What year and what engine? Keep in mind that if you do an aftermarket intake, you need a tune for that intake to really get benefit from it as well as to eliminate the risk of running lean.

2006 with 5.4L engine. I was planning on just buying the tuner and intake combo from 5star

The LiveWire SCT unit has an actual pod interface that can be dash mounted, but it does cost a little more than your typical handheld programmer.
