Slapping a tuner on a 1999 V6 F150

I want to get a little more lb torque out of that 4.2 V6. Bad idea?

Not a bad idea at all, just get a good one and consider custom tunes. I don't know who the best tuner out there is for the 4.2. I'd check out 5 Star, MPT, and VMP, using a SCT programmer.
