Diablo sport predator

Couple questions.
Just picked up a Diablo sport predator, used. (99F150 5.4L) MOdel U7153
I have read through the manual on how to "install a performance tune" and had no problems doing that.

First question, is there only 1 canned tune? Never saw an option for different octanes but was under the assumption there would be 3 tunes like most tuners. Went through the upload 2 times to make sure I didnt miss anything and again, never saw an option for anything other than "upload performance tune"

If that is the case though, what octane is the 1 canned tune?

I was told run 89 or retard the global spark 3-4 degrees. Just want to make sure that is the case before I go messing with it.

In the mean time I'll have to wait until Monday to get some cables and upload any updates to it.

Right now it is back to stock until I can clarify those things

Thanks

Hi.

You sure it's a U7135 and not a U7153 ? Here's an application list (aboot halfway down the page):

http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GN3012//Diabl....html#moreinfo

U7153 supports yer truck, not U7135 according to that list.

Update revision pages here:

U7135: https://www.diablosport.com/support-...ult/?pid=U7135

U7153: http://diablosport.com/support-search-result/?pid=U7153

Not sure if that helps any though - kinda cryptic to me

Predator Ford Gas forum here: https://www.diablosport.com/forum/vi...8de4c93a9305cf

A relevant post: https://www.diablosport.com/forum/vi...hp?f=9&t=47273

Everything I've seen thus far via searching suggests multiple tunes should be present.

I would not run that tune until you've: A) confirmed the model # / vehicle support, B) updated the unit, and C) gotten in touch with Diablo Mike - our rep - for his expert assessment.

Good luck

My bad. It is a U7153.
I found that update page but got a little scared away when I read
"NOTE: Loading older croms to a Predator can cause the unit to become inoperable."
So I need to figure out which updates to use.

I have read from a few people there is only one "performance tune" With that model
But have also read from other people like what you have posted with that model that there are 3 so.. eh

I'll send an email out to Mike or get on his forums and see what him says

Thanks for the info.

Just found some of Mikes posts that confirm there is only one tune, at least back then

That was back in 2010 though. Maybe there have been updates since then. Not sure yet. Still hunting.

Sorry I missed this...

Yes, the U7153 (99-03 F150) only ever offered the one premium fuel tune. You can adjust it for 87 as per the instructions you found from another post of mine

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns

Thanks.
I haven't done any updates yet but I have it up and plugged in to 92octane. Our gas around here goes 87, 89, 92 so. Should be fine eh?

Happy with the overall product. The other features make up for the single canned tuned. Until I can get around to a costume tune.

Thanks
