Custom chip install & aftermarket car alarm

Hi guys, I'm trying to advise a friend who is installing a new chip into her 2009 F-350, she wrote to me saying, 'somehow the aftermarket alarm was tweaked and we can't get the truck to start now! We are letting the batteries die overnight, then I have to find a charger and hope that after recharging the alarm has reset. Apparently, this worked before. If not, [woman's car buddy helping her install it] will call alarm install place for me on Tuesday.'

If there are any threads concerning this type of setup (installing a new chip while an aftermarket alarm is also present) I would appreciate the link. Thank you all,

Dave

What kind of "chip" and aftermarket alarm are we talking about here?

And, you're leaving the alarm on to completely drain the battery? If so, you've probably ruined the battery. In the future, just disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery to remove all power.
