chip and pulleys
From what I've read I understand that if you install underdrive pulleys after a chip you need to have the chip re-programmed.
I plan on pulleys but would like to know the hp value of them and
the loss to my system. I plan on running electric fans also.
As far as my wife is concerned it will be a while until these mods are actually made but only time will tell.
I usually get my way.

Hi nchoman,
Hmm, I think there is a slight misunderstanding perhaps, as you do *not* need to have the Superchip reprogrammed for underdrive pulleys or for electric fans.
The power gains you can expect from underdrive pulleys on a V-8 F-150 are about 14-15 hp at the flywheel. You'll see the same basic gains, anywhere from 12-15 horsepower, from converting over to electric cooling fans.
And doing both the underdrive pulleys and the electric fans will give you the power gains from both, those would be cumulative gains and will not calcel each other out, etc., and will not need any custom programming/tuning in the Superchip.
I hope that helps,
