Help newbie come up with mod strategy
#16
Hi Iron Horse,
The fact that we have the engine in our Lightning putting out 500 horsepower is nothing new, it's been at that level for some time. We also just added about another 40 or so HP, so it's around 535-550 on the motor we're estimating at this point. It hasn't been back on the dyno since the last boost increase, tuning changes and the long-tube headers, high-flo cats, etc.
Just as we have done the same for many other Lightning and 2002 supercharged Harley model owners, and a number of "regular" F-150 owners as well. We have literally hundreds of "regular" F-150 owners who have supercharged their engines, for example, and many more who have done lower levels of modifications. We do whatever the customer wants, we can literally take any of these F-150 platform vehicles and take it's performance to virtually any level of performance desired that the vehicle owner can afford and is willing to pay for, that's what we do here at Performance.
In the case of the Lightnings & '02 Harley models which are supercharged from the factory, we have bolt-on parts available to take them all the way down into the 11's in the 1/4 mile. This is not new, and just so we're fair here, I have to point out that our Lightning is nowhere near the fastest or quickest Lightning around, nor are we trying to achieve that. There are Lightnings putting out 600+ horsepower on the motor, a number of them, so it's not just Mike T's Lightning that can show it's tailgate to the V-10 Dodge truck (if & when it shows up), there are a number of Lightnings that can do that right now.
How do we do that? With a proper selection of parts & modifications, some cold hard cash, and a lot of sweat. Anyone wanting that kind of performance only needs to call, and we can do that for them, too.
Ford isn't taking this V-10 Dodge laying down either, once Dodge puts that Viper-motored truck into production, you'll see the Lightning's stock power level increased by Ford to keep it's performance *at least* as quick as that Dodge, and most likely quicker.
Enjoy your weekend!
