Chip Question?
Actually I have two questions. 1. I am getting a Air Force One intake next week, do I need to reset my computer after the istallation for this mod? 2. I already am running a super chip now, if I do need to reset the computer will the super chip need another 500 miles before being 100% ?. Thanks

Hi K-man,
Since you have been running on premium gas for some time now with the Superchip, it won't take quite as long to get back to 100% after clearing the ECU. You'll go thru the relearn cycle, and it will probably take maybe a couple hundred miles to get the full 100%, but it will go to work right away and you'll get at least 80% or more from it after clearing the ECU. You already have all premium gas in the system so there is no 87 octane to dilute the incoming premium gas over the next couple of tanks like you have when you first install a Superchip.
All that having been said, there is no need to clear the ECU after installing the AF1 kit, but we usually do, as we like the ECU to begin the relearn & adaptation processes from scratch in our new configuration. The adaptive strategy adjustments will happen from scratch with the new mechanical configuration, and many people like to do that.
Don't worry, it won't be like you can't feel the Superchip if you clear the ECU after installing the AF1, it'll still be there, and you'll have that benefit. Go ahead and clear the ECU after installing the AF1 if you want to, that isn't going to hurt your performance, you'll still have more power than you did before the AF1.
Though it's certainly not required, clearing the ECU (powertrain computer) after installing a new performance part, an intake, nad exhaust, etc. is frequently done to allow the ECU to start from scratch with the new mechanical changes made, a lot of people like to do this, and we do to in many cases.
Good luck!
