Mike-trbl codes
Mike,
It was great to talk to you today. If you have a chance to browse the engines thread check out my post called "problems, help".
I had my trouble codes downloaded today at AutoZone and none came up. I was most concerned about not having the one show up for ROM Error. Shouldn't this have come up if the superchip was in while the codes were being read?

Hi kpaton,
I enjoyed talking to you as well!
Unfortunately, I won't be getting to the Engines section today, as we're still trying to recover from the Rally this past weekend, which has put us *way* behind in email and in getting to a number of sections here, too. It will probably be this weekend before we're really caught up. But I'll give you a brief response here now, and then please feel free to give us another call if you like, I'm happy to speak with you again.
It depends on what kind of scanner is used as to whether or not you'll get the P0605 etc. error reported with the Superchip present. Some scanners "see" that, and some don't, and some see it but figure it's not a problem, and so on. For example, with Ford's WDS system, you *have* to pull any performance chip, or it can't communicate with the PCM at all. Or, with Ford's older (and many say better) SBDS system, that will show the P0605 RPM code, which is to be ignored when the Superchip is present. So it all depends on the scanner, don't let that worry you, it doesn't mean anything at all that whatever scan tool they used didn't pick up a P0605 ROM error code with the Superchip present.
