I haven't been active here @ F150 for a while as I have my own business that keeps me swamped. And I'm not trying to knock the Superchip, as what I have read here tells me it's the way to go. But I did recently pick up a Hypertech III on Ebay for $250, and tried it today. My 98 F250 LD w/ 4.6 and 3.73 rear used to ping under load, idle rough and lack power. After installing the Hypertech III program, I now have eliminated the knock, hesitation and rough idle. Only thing that puzzles me is I wasn't able to change my WOT top speed ( tire rating) . Although this truck is a 3/4 ton F250, it's built on a F 150 chassis. Once again, I'm not knocking the Superchip, and may purchase one in the future as the Hypertech is "generic", but for now I'm happy with the outcome.....
