Best place to purchase an alternator

My 98 needs a new alternator. I have the towing package, so I believe the OEM unit is a 130 Amp unit. In any case, is there a good online site for new or very high quality overhauled units? I prefer new as my previous experience with overhauled alternators is poor.

It seems that some here have had the same bad experience I have had with the discount auto type outlets. Maybe NAPA is better?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I've bought from these guys for a friend. They say it's for a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck, but the only difference for the F150 was the pulley (bought for a 97 f150). Looked brand new and had no problems. Waaaay cheaper ($64) than anywhere else I've found if you can wait about a week.

ebay alternator

If it's sold before you get to it, check back later, he's always got 'em for sale.

That's the same guy I bought mine from. Brand new condition but you need to change pulleys if you have the 8 rib. Also the old 90 deg angle adapter for the wires needs to be reused.

If you're desperate, I have the old (25k miles) 95 amp alternator for sale. U$50 shipped to FL.

Thanks, I ordered one. I expect it will be just what I need.
