Battery Light Stays On
#4
First thing to do is check to see if the charging system is working by checking for a voltage rise at the battery just after starting. Should see about 15.5 to 16 volts that reduces down to about 13.6 in a few minutes.
This will show if the charge is being restored from the high starting load.
Don't just fully trust the alternator check.
The system has to raise voltage to restore the battery charge.
The indicator lamp is a seperate issue in that the internal regulator senses the alternator output and turns the lamp off or in the absence of output turns the lamp on.
There could still be a fault with the internal regulator for only this function.
Did the alternator testing check the lamp function?
