Interior lights

Sometimes they stay on after i turn key n drive away. n the door ajar light stays on for about 3 mins after i take off. then the lights wil lturn off right after that.

Try oiling the door catch in the door. That is where the switch is and some have said it gets glumped with gunk and sticks. Many symptoms similar to what you are experincing and this is waht they are doing. I havnt experinced it yet but this is what I will try if/when I do.

very common problem. spray the door latches with WD40, both doors.


This is where you need to spray. the switch is in there and it sticks.

I had the same problem with my dome lights staying on. Mine would stay on for atleast an hour. Took it to the local Ford dealer and they said it was the switch in the door. I had them replace it. What a mistake. $21.00 part cost me $100.00 to have installed. Should have done the installation myself. Now works fine though.

Ouch! Now you find out $2.50 for a can of WD-40 migh would have done it. I hate when that happens. Thats why I love this site, it has saved me countless $$$'s and hours working on it.

You rock!!! This has been happening to me for months! I went outside and sprayed the door, shut it and voila! Lights out!!!

true true. Sprayed a ton of lithium grease. lights out for me. thanks guys

Wish i new about spraying in wd40 before. thanks for the info. If this happens again i will try that.
