Door locks (power)

I hope someone can help me......Both my drivers side and pass side locks will only unlock and not lock, dosen't matter which switch I push it won't lock. No idea where to begin on this one so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks-Jeff

Did you ever get an answer, I have a simular problem, I am assuming it is the switch and am also wondering if the switch can be cleaned?

My drivers side will not lock or unlock, Passenger side will lock both doors but not unlock either doors

On ones that ignore all signals,
Start at the fuse,
Then the switch, which is easy to test.

Then go to the relay, then finally the actuator in the door.

Some use relays built into the module, and if those go out, assume you are going to the wrecking yard or a good online vendor.

On one that works one way but not the other on all doors, look for a bad relay. They usually have one relay for down, another for up. Easy to bug hunt power locks as they are very simple in design.

My pass switch won't lock or unlock.
The driver switch and remote both work the pass side lock though.

Bad switch ??

Thanks ~Jim

Sure sounds like it.
If I got your question right, the actuator must be OK as the door can be locked and unlocked by two other methods.
The relay must be right because the two other methods work.

So it's either the switch or the wires from that switch.
Logic suggests the switch. You might be able to clean it, as has been posted, or just swap in another switch. Lots of them in the wrecking yards, and you can buy them at many autoparts stores, e-bay, etc.
Good luck
Chris
