I just replaced my wrecked 97 F150 with another 97 F150.
This new truck's door locks do not lock when I put the truck into gear and my old truck did. Is this a fuse issue (fuse not there) or do I need to get this programmed by a Ford dealer?

Any ideas?

 

Open the owner's manual to the page to the keyless entry section. There is a section in there to activate/deactivate this feature. I don't recall what it is offhand as I deactivated it on both of mine before leaving the dealership lot.

Another random thought: Didn't some 97s NOT come with the door pad, but come with remote entry? I don't recall my early '97 having one.... just can't remember that far back... In either case, you need the door pad to enable/disable this feature, don't you?.
