2002 F150 Screw won't start when hot
Just started a week ago. The truck won't start after being driven for awhile. I have to wait 20-30 mins and it'll start right up like nothing's wrong.
I have full battery power and everything looks great until I try to crank the engine.. there's a single loud "click" but no engine cranking.
Before I begin just randomly swapping parts, does anyone have an idea of what this is?
My guesses are:
1. Starter won't work when it's hot
2. Starter solenoid won't work when it's hot
I don't think it's the battery because it only does this after the engine gets hot. Other than that, it works great.
Thanks.

Randomly replacing parts is not the way. It oftern results in frustration and expense.
Trouble shoot first to get a direction to go for the problem.
When in fault, is there voltage at the starter when an attempt is made to crank?
Is the voltage at least 10 volts at that point?
If yes then the starter is suspect.
Check cable for faults and loose/corroded mounting.

Thanks for the replies. I've been ignoring the problem but I need to fix it soon It starts fine after sitting 10-15 minutes so that's been my temporary work around.
I don't have headers but I'm going to check the battery cable and try to determine if that's the problem.
Thanks.
