if you are doing it correct then you may have been ripped off. are you sure the keys are PATS and have the chips inside.

I know when I did my first extra key for my '06 I was hauling @ss through the on - off, and the first time I got the same results, falshing theift light.

Try it again, at a rhythmic pace, for all 3 keys and it should work. That is what I had to do. I think I did the on - off too fast the first time.

If you have the transponder keys, you should be good to go.

i tried it like 8 times and a dealer tried it once and none work. i dont see how 5 keys could be bad but i think i am gonna go to a dealer who sells the keys cut for 19.00 and they program them for free and see if he can do it with his own new key. other than that i have no clue

I'm pretty sure you need the original keys to program another key.

A new key from 2 originals is the way I did it, but I don't know about a new key made from copies.

Does any one know for sure if you can make a new key from two copies?

I just realized something. You are the 2nd or maybe the 3rd owner of the truck ?

Since the 2 keys you have are not Ford keys, you might be at the 8 key limit for programming ? You know there are at least 4, the 2 factory keys, and the 2 non factory keys you are currently using.
Don't forget if you have a remote starter, this is one of the 8 keys with the PATS interface.
