wires under seat

i was looking under my driver seat (i do not have power seats) there is a yellow plug pluged in to the seat what is it

This is what happened to me. We removed the front driver and passenger seat from my 2001 F150 to replace the carpet. Once we reinstalled the carpeting and seats I had a SRS light on in the dash. The dealership reset it for 45 dollars and told me that if the seats are removed and the ignition is turned on while they are removed the SRS light will come on. If the SRS light is on the air bags WILL NOT deploy. He said this is to prevent deployment of the air bags while the seats are removed... A safety issue I guess. BoB

Almost all yellow connectors & harnesses are for SRS.

Wow that must be new in 01 or something, I've had my interior completely out including carpet at least a half dozen times and never seen this yellow plug. INteresting feature though!
