Rear-View Mirror

I have read a few threads on the little box behind the rear-view mirror of some F-150s. I have a 2006 XLT crewcab and happen to have one of those boxes. What I can't find information on is the voltage of the wires. I am hoping one of them is 12v. Might be wishful thinking, but I have a ValentineOne radar detector and it would be a perfect place to direct wire it. Thanks for the help.

Do you have an overhead console or a rail ?

With the overhead console ( the one with the fixed single compartment and map lights ) you can use the power from the battery saver circuit, for the map lights :
Light Blue = +12v
Black = Ground

The "box" in front of the mirror I do believe is the compas interface ?? The sunload sensor is in the area that the PATS indicator LED is at.

This thread tells a lot about the overhead console that does NOT show mileage (compass/temp only).

This shape of "box in front of the mirror" is a detector for oncoming headlights, used only with this type of mirror, or with the autodimming brights system.

These shapes of box are the flux gate for the compass.
