i bought a oem security system (alarm and locks) i have a few questions
1. on a 97 f150 xlt extended cab where is the brain located
2. can anybody give me more detailed instructions on how to install it it came with some but mot very good i want to know what wire is what on my truck.
3.it was not advertised as a starter nor the key fob have a starter button but i have 4 plugs on the brain, accessory harness connector, door locks, shock sensor, and starter. so does this mean my brain is capable of keyless start if i get the key fob for it

The manuals are good if you have a grasp on the basics. It covers programming new remotes, too.
Also, don't forget to keep the bad guys out from under the hood and away from the battery. I used to be able to pop the hood on my 2007 F150 in two seconds-with a stick.
