1995 F150 tail lights,

hey everyone, new to the forum, and i have a question.
I have a 1995 f-150 and recently out of the blue, the tail lights stopped working, but the turnsignals, brake lights, headlights and hazard lights still work. ive checked all the fuses under the dash, and under the hood. All good. check the headlight switch, and everything looks good/ seems to be in working order. so what now?

if you read my post correctly, every thing else works besides the "running taillights".... both filaments on both bulbs light when they should, except for the running lights..

If the running taillights aren't working, then you wouldn't know if both filaments are working. The brakes & turns use the same filament (the bright one). Only the parking lights use the dim filament.

Check the bulbs.

so I put NEW bulbs in and nothing, no taillights,, i got out the test light and went from the taillights the whole way to the front of the truck, checking about every foot or soo, and checking all the connections, everything seemed fine to me, nothing looked out of place. so what now?, i refuse to pay the local shop 55$ an hour for service. so im trying to find the problem/fix this myself,, but if i cannot, i may have to resort to paying,....

actually, i checked the plug that goes from inside the cab, to the firewall/engine bay area,, perfectly fine, ok, next checked the headlight switch, perfectly fine,. so i got out the test light and went from the headlight switch back, 6" at a time, and sure enough, i was back to about the piece on the driver side frame rail near the inboard gastank and the next section i checked had no power, so i went rooting around in that 6" or so section and i found a spot that had the insulation worn off, but everything was still wrapped, so idk wtf it was like something had eaten through it,, i got that section fixed (solder, heatshrink ect ect....) wrapped up like new.
thanks much.
this is a great website with tons of useful information
