battery light

Don't you love it when you change something, ( by pass pulley for a/c) then when you are done, the battery light comes on and the voltmeter slowly goes down when you take a test drive, at night with the lights on.
So i turned around.
question, does the battery light just indicate that the voltmeter is running low?

I think I have the choice of , the battery decided to die, I pulled off a wire somewhere ( I checked and did not see any), the alternator is gone, or there is a short somewhere.
I was also wondering if a fuse could do this. I took the neg cable off while working on it, and cleaned the termination points.

I have the battery on charge right now. If you have any ideas on this I would appreciate it. thanks.

Means you probably need to replace your alternator.
