power wires

Guys I am adding a overhead dvd player to my 05 Super Crew. It needs has 2 power wires on it. a black one(12-) and a red one (12V+). I spliced to the LT green/purple wire(12V) on the back of the radio and teh black/LT green wire(ground). I have no power at the unit. What am I doing wrong? Is there a wire on the harness under the sill plate that I can spice into? Please help. I am going on a road trip and I need this for my kids.

Thanks.

Well, if the factory radio still works, they either your splices are bad , the add-on harness is bad, or the DVD player is dead.

You used an always hot and a ground. Should work.
