got a MY and trim level & Cab type to go with that question ?

Also, is the trailer tow harness an aftermarket one, as those lights are not part of the trucks on the factory setup.

Take a look under the truck, there should be a trailer tow adapter wiring that looks like this

Another question.

When you have the main headlamp switch in the off position ( not in Autolamp ), do you still have this problem with the fuse blowing ?

I am assuming this is the cab fuse panel, fuse #4, that you are talking about.

This is for the Autolamps, power mirrors, and RKE / RAP.

If this fuse is blowing, it could be incorrect install of the trailer tow adapter, or the autolamp module has taken it's leave.

What exactly did you do when you "cut out connector and repaired wiring " on the melted harness.

took the melted factory connector shown in the diagram obove that is circled and butt connected them together with the shrinkable butt connectors when the problem started i also recut all those butt connected wires and the problem persist
and to my knowledge this truck never had auto lamp feature unless it never worked

Try unplugging the connector from the truck's harness.

There could be a problem with it still.

On the topic of Autolamp, does the main headlamp **** have on the dial a light bulb with an A in it ?

You basically unplugged the connector, or you actually did unplug the connector? Simple question really.
