window control illumination/cruise control

I have an '04 sc and a couple of issues.
1) Are all of the window controls supposed to be illuminated on the driver's door? Only the down arrow on one is lit.
2) cc stopped working. Wont come on, nothing. If fuse is ok, would it most likely be switch on brake? How much and is it easy to change out?
Thanks in advance.

1 As long as the window switch lock on the driver's door is not in the locked position, both arrows should be illuminated.
Check the Technical Articles ( URL right below the word unofficial in the title bar above ) for a how to thread on replacing the LEDs.

2. There is no fuse for the Cruise Control, only the Cruise control disconnect switch on the top of the brake pedal. Not sure what fuse you checked.
Did you change your tail light bulbs to LEDs ?
Do all 3 brake lamps work correctly ?

1) That's what I thought. Ok, thanks.
2) Nope, didnt change to LEDs. I DID change a burned out cab brakelight about two weeks ago but after I changed it, all 3 lights worked fine.

Here's a "how to" on repairing those door switches: Switch Repair

There's a solder connection that develops cracks over time. I haven't had any more trouble with mine after making the repair.

My bad sscully - I confused the two issues. I was referring to a fuse that may have affected the window switch.
thanks - we'll see how it goes

Ok, I put the fuse with the wrong item.

For the CC, the only things to check

1. BPP ( Brake Pedal Position Switch ) = This is good with all 3 brake lamps working.

2. Cruise Control Disconnect switch

2.1. This should be closed when the brake pedal is off
2.2. The fuse is cab fuse panel fuse # 14 - Give it a check, but I think that feeds other items as well, that would be noticeable if blown. Hot in start / run position for the ign key.
2.3. The Light Blue w/ Pink wire is from Fuse #14
2.4. The Black w/ Yellow stripe wire is to the PCM for the operation ( disconnect ) of the Cruise Control.
2.4.1. You can use a meter to make sure you have power on the black w/ yellow stripe wire leaving the CC Disco Switch, to make sure the switch is good. Test with the brake off ( pedal at the top of travel.

If this tests good, you could have an issue with the CC switches, the clock spring, or the switch wiring to the PCM.
