Post Stereo/CD Changer Wiring?

Does anyone know anything about the factory cd Changers and their wiring. I am trying to find out if I purchase a factory stereo and changer from someone withour any wiring, can I simply plug it into my truck. I own a 1999 f150 with a standard AM/FM/Cassette.
Also, where where the changers mounted in the F150s

The CD changer mounts vertically behind the passenger seat in standard cab F-150s. As far as the wiring goes, check with the parts department at your dealer. They can look up the part number for the dash/cab harness in your truck, and the part number for a dash/cab harness with CD changer. If they match you are in business.

My truck is an Extended Cab. Do you know where they mount the CD in the extended cab
trucks?

Cool

In a supercab you must have captains chairs and the changer mounts in the center console. Check under the console if you have one for wiring, if you do not have captains chairs I would guess you would not have the wiring. Look under your seat anyway to check. If the wiring is there you should be able to plug them right in.

Thanks for all the help.
I don't have captains chairs. It is the split
bench seat, but it does have a flip-up armrest in the middle that opens for storage. I will give it a good check for any wiring.

Cool

I would bet it's there. My mustang came with a convertible wiring harness under the console even though it's a coupe. It's faster and cheaper just to wire all of the vehicles for the options than to custom wire each truck.
