Question Power door lock problem.......

When it is cold outside, (around 5-8 degrees C), about 35-38 degrees F, and below, the power door lock on the drivers side makes a funny whirring noise when locked/unlocked.

It also takes a while to come up or down, while making this noise. Sometimes it doesn't lock or unlock at all, and I have to make a couple of attempts in order for it to work.

Anyone have any expertise in this field? Do I just need to pull the door apart and lube the mechanism?

Thanks!

There is no way to lube or do any kind of preventative maintenance on this.

Your door lock actuator is failing!!!!!!

It's life is soon to come to a end.

You can replace them with an aftermarket one at your local car stereo shop for less money, or of course you can always consult your local for dealer.

Simple to replace, two wires, and two rivets!!!

GOOD LUCK!

Unhappy Bummer........

My passenger side does that every now and then too. Mine doesn't seem to care what the temp is, but just seems to do it about once a week on average. The rest of the time, works normally.
