2000 F150 Fog Lights
#3
What?
Fog lights are for driving in fog (slow speeds, low visibility).
They are low intensity, highly diffuse lights that should be aimed low at about 30 ft. in front of you. This reduces the glare produced by the fog (water droplets). For even better visibility in fog, yellow light is reccommended.
If you want to see farther down the road, get some driving lights!

Hey X-Driver and Steve,
Thanks.....it just seems like when I'm driving in Fog or heavy snow or blizzards that they ought to work a little stronger. Bout 30 feet in front of me are all they are good for, if even that! I thought they would reach out further than that. Be nice if they were about 100'+. I can't make these stock lights any better? I'm really not into installing any other lights up front. Plus I'd hate to drill a hole in the dash for a switch....just that kind of guy I guess.

useless 2000 foglights
Well I have a 2000 as well and the lights are useless. You can adjust the aim though. It does help. There is a screw on top of the assembly it adjusts the alignment. Do this against a wall at night from a distance. Another problem is that they are only 42 watt bulbs. Somewhere there is a thread on a 55 watt bulb that can be coerced into the assembly.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

there is no need for a hole in your dash if you have an aftermarket stereo, although I am guessing you dont have an upgrade. I have a sony xplode and I had to install that little cubby hole tray above it to fill the hole--It makes a great place for switches I have 3 in there and might put more in--1 for driving lights, 1 for gauge pod lights and 1 to shut off all poer to all my aftermarket wiring if something catches on fire or just to make sure the battery doesnt run down. the switches look real sharp in that tray I am glad I got a new stereo though because I was wondering how I was going to add switches into the interior.
