Cool Door locks

I have a small dog which rides in the truck when the weather is cool. I need to be able to disable the door lock/unlock feature when I am out of the truck so that the dog cannot unlock the doors.
I am thinking of installing a switch, but need to know what wire(s) to open to disable.

Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Giles.

You should be able to do this without modifying any wiring if you have already have the Ford remote keyless entry (the keyfob system). Your dealer can program your Security Module to disable the unlock button on the door.

This is called trim unlock switch inhibit and it has to be turned on using the dealer's service tool. This feature disables the unlock button on the door 20 seconds after you lock the vehicle. When you unlock the vehicle using the fob, key, or keypad the unlock switch on the door becomes functional again.

This feature is contained in the Security Module software but wasn't turned on by the factory. It is described in later versions of the Owner's Manuals but not the early printings.
