Wanted more light under the hood

I found this Rope light at Target on clearance for $4.90 15 ft long.
I ran them around the engine makes it brighter but looks fuggy what do you all think.
I'm going to take them out and try something else.

I wonder how long it will stand up to the heat.

Nice Christams engine, more light is cool but I think I would try something else. Maybe try tacking it to the underside of your hood.

The lights are for show purposes or off road use only.
I can see the use for show but can't see were they will do anything for off road.
and the temperature rating is -31 F to 158 F with a 20,000 hrs life expectancy 12 volts, 0.07 amps based on average use of 2000 hrs per year each bulb is 0.42 w, 4 bulbs per section.

I took them out and gave them to my son in law and we put them on the roof of a destruction derby car that going to run today at an event if the officials will leave the on there.
