Nope sorry. A V6 will always have a buzzing sound compared to a V8

I couldn't afford a V8 and besides I was given the truck by my mom, it was hers first so I didn't have much choice

Try cutting out the factory muffler and put a Magnaflow in it's place. Sounds like an 8 at idle and certain rpms. With a 5 spd it cackles a little between shifts. Duals on a 6 are a waste of time IMO.

Cr1028, My V6 with a Flowmaster instead of the factory muffler does not buzz at any speed. It doesn't sound like a V8, but it does sound better than stock.

The closest I have found to sounding like a v8 is the rhino brand mufflers they advertise in truckin mag.It even gets that inhale burble sound in between shifts and going down hill no drone until about 75-80 mph.But my wife didn't like the nice sound it was making so I had to change to a Gibson sweptside but it did sound like a v8 at idle and under exceleration.

A kid that visits somebody in my neighborhood succeeded in making his V6 sound like a 4! What an accomplishment!

Cool

I got a flowmaster 40 series single in dual out. Of course it doesn't sound exactly like an 8 but its close enough. It thunders when I start it ans burbles between shifts.

Just my $.02

Mike150,
I've seen the ads the for the Rhino Muffler. How much do they cost??

You can get a v6 to sound like a v8 at idle and low rpm's. I'm convinced that the glasspack on my truck is a little high pitch at higher rpms and does drone and probably not a good performance mod, however it is has a really deep rumble when being driven at low rpms and burbles on downshifts.

I'm going to get the Dynomax SuperTurbo #17776 (single in/dual out) put on my truck soon. Hope it sounds good.

Talking

First, disconnect the wiring running to the engine. Next, disconnect the fuel line, radiator and heater hoses. Then the drive shaft, motor and transmission mounts. Pull the motor out and replace with V8!
I know, I'm a smart a**!
Seriously though, nothing is more laughable than a little guy trying to be a big guy. It's so very obvious when you hear six banger with duals. It draws your attention to the fact that it is actually a six cylender and the owner wants you to think it's an 8.
I've got a 4.6 in my truck, which I consider fairly wimpy. I, personally don't want it to sound like it's got a big ol' hot rodded motor and not be able to get out of it's own way! I would much rather spend my money and time trying to eek out more ponies. I like sleepers.
Just one more opinion!

Wrangler dual battery kit with red & yellow top Optima batteries. Torsion bars cranked up 2 turns. Needs one more door and a lot more power. I think I need to talk to Mr. Whipple.

I wouldn't call it "a little guy trying to be a big guy." Most of us just couldn't care less about the quiet stock exhaust. If you do not have a suggestion do us all a favor and refrain from posting.

Why is everybody so touchy these days?! Lighten up a little. Go back and read that post again. If you'll notice, I was knocking the motor in my truck too! I have an opinion like every single person here. It's just that, an opinion. I believe you don't need to make a lot of racket to make people think you're big and bad. Let your actions speak for you instead. And there again, just my opinion. That's the thing about opinions. If you speak them, there will *always* be a percentage of people who will not agree with your's. That's O.K.! That's why they're called opinions and not called facts.
And as for having a suggestion (I assume you mean helpful or informative.) If you research some of my other posts I think you'll find I've been more so than the majority of the 4300+ members of this board. Please do have a nice day! I mean to offend no one.
