Cool Single In/ Single Out What Series?

Have any of you out there put a single in/ single out flowmaster on a new Screw? If so what series 40, 50, 70, and if you haven't yet why? Also, do these mufflers resonate inside the cab. I want to order a series 70 based on the product manual for inside noise rating, but will the exterior sound still produce! Thanks, Jackie

Cool

Many here, myself included, like the 40 series muffler. I have read some posts that say there is a hint of resonence in the cab when at certain highway speeds. Check some of the other Flowmaster posts and see. Most of the people who use them say the 40 series really performs both for added horses and desired sound and that this out weighed any in cab noise. I've also read a few posts from those that initialy went with the 70. Then after switching to the 40 said they liked it much better. Check some other posts, I'm sure you'll find the info you're looking for. Welcome to the best F-150 site on the web!

Thumbs up

I have a 3 inch cat back installed in the factory position with a FloMaster 40 series. The sound is just right! Hardly noticable at idle or light acceleration but kicks in when you do. I get a little bit of cab noise about 80 to 85 mph. I do a lot of freeway dring and it does not bother me.

Would recommend the 40 series maby 50 series if you are real noise conciouse

I just got a 50 SUV Performance Flowmaster muffler installed on my F150. It is surprisingly quiet. Can barely hear it at idle standing outside. At idle it used to sound like two squirrels masturbating in the oem muffler but now it has a lower kind of rumble. It gives a deep tone when pushed but quiets down to nothing cruising in the city. There is a resonance at 1600 to 1700 rpm but it totally goes away outside of the rpm band. It's 70 mph with a 3.08 rear btw. If you want the deep rumple of a performance truck try the 40 series, for a stealthy low profile sound the 50 SUV is great.
BTW, a lot of the poping and crackling sound after driving went away with the Flowmaster.

I just had FM Delta flow 50 series installed on my truck. IMHO it's a good compramize for power gains and nice sound without being anoying loud.

Anyone hear of a 60 series? Is it old? Asking because a call to the local muffler shop said they had the 40 and 60.
