Unhappy Suddenly, FM40's have gone quiet !!

One thing I will say to those considering an FM40 true dual setup: make sure that when you listen to the new system, you don't have a bedcap, or bedcover on! I just took off my bedcap (I had to move something tall) and my new duals were at least half the volume they were with the bedcap on! BUMMER! I guess the cap was working like a sub woofer or speaker cabinet. I'm not sure if the volume has changed outside, or just in the cab. If it's the same outside (which it should be) then I'm quite happy again, no resonance in the cab whatsoever anymore. I HATE that bedcap anyway! Time to sell it.

"custom look'n door cracks", I love it!!

I've got 'em too!!

So you had MORE sound in the cab with the cap on? Interesting. I bet you are right about it acting like a huge "sub woofer" or "speaker cabinet".

Yeah, no slapper or rough idle (knock wood) 68k so far. I felt those options were a little too much to go for (just got lucky). I really envy those SCrew guys who get the smaller radiator for free!!

Im getting my FM40 installed this week on a 4.2- SIDO Its the deltaflow model though. I wonder how it will sound.

Also - u are from toronto (im in mississauga). theres a meet this weekend for f150 drivers. e-mail me if u want in! nicr0s@hotmail.com
