Bassani, Borla, or Magnaflow?

Just need some help deciding on a nice SS exhaust system. I'd like the tips to exit Lightning style forward of the rear-wheel.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Bassani... That's what I'd get if I had a newer truck with a modular engine. Sounds BADASS, very aggressive and deep and a lot of L owners use their systems!! The price is just a bit steep. Magnaflow has a rich tone to it and is much cheaper. Depends on how deep ya wanna dig in yer pockets.

Thanks for the reply. I'm more worried about the HP/TQ increase more than anything else. I'm wondering if the two are comparable. I'm willing to spend the $ on a Bassani system, especially since I love the forward passanger exit, but would I be wasting my money? Do you think the Bassani system is worth $200 more?

Right on for teh response.

My 2 cents...

Borla or Magnaflow will give very similar performance, made of excellent quality, and cost about the same. Just pick by tone, or by tip. I don't like the Borla tip. Anyway, te Bassani is nice, but not worth an extra 200 if that is what it is. I think it is very comparable to the other two in terms of performance and quality, but obviously not the price.

I've decided on Bassani. I just have to buy some electric fans, then I will save my coffee money for the exhaust.

No wonder you're not worried about horsepower since I see by your sig that you have forced induction. I am hurting in two areas: with my N/A induction and the little 4.6. I need all the horsepower I can get.

I may just have to spend the family vacation money on a blower!

Take a look at Spintech. they have a nice side exit GT system. www.spintechmufflers.com. I installed a DI/Do x-pipe systems that exits in the right rear.

the sound is excellent and a nice jump in performance.

Thanks for the imput. I have heard a lot of people talking about that system, but I think I'm going to go all out stainless steel. I narrowed it down to Bassani or Magnaflow. I am leaning towards Bassani, but I have to buy my electric fans first and install them (all on the 8th of July, Vacation week). Then I will scrap my Flowmaster SIDO system for the Bassani.

I'm still up in the air about exhaust systems. I 've gone on the Borla site, and they say that the Borla system is made of T-304 Stainless (Aircraft Grade), except for the flanges which are mild steel. I went on the magnaflow site, and their wording is ambiguous. Magnaflow makes a point to say that some of their direct fit systems are SS, but others don't mention what quality steel they use (T304, 409 etc.). Anyone know for sure? What about Bassani? They don't even mention what quality SS they use. I want something that's going to last and shine for a long time. I've heard that T-304 has the least amount of surface loss in exhaust applications. Anyway, I'm still taking suggestions.

Is Magnaflow as good as Borla and Bassani?
