I thought I was crazy - I believe I've lost some low end power after installing the catback system. I used to be able to spin the tires easily from a stop (going in a straight line - no brake standing), now they rarely break loose...
I almost regret getting the system.
I've got a 2001 supercrew w/ the 5.4l eng & no other mods.

Dang that's aggravating! How do you and chofu spin 'em and I can't? What rear ends do you have? Mine must be J-LO sized and won't get going. Actually , I've got the 3.55 LS (maybe part of the problem) and the 5.4 auto in a scab.

I recently did the FIPK, tuner, Magnaflow deal. Towed this weekend (3000# camper trailer) and can say I did not feel that I lost any low end. It's still definitely not a rocket off the line or anything, but I didn't go backward from stock. Shifts were firmer and crisper than stock.
What I did pick up however is a loud @ss drone at 2000-2200 RPMs under just that light load. It quickly got comments from the fam of "is it going to be this loud the whole way there?!?!" I found it goes away once up to 2500 RPM (about 65mph w my gearing and tires), so I just tried to get thru the 50-65 mph range as quickly as I could but it was annoying if I got stuck in that range in traffic in the city for too long. It might not be as bad in an F since the cab isn't over the muffler as much, but in the X it is definitely there.
I'm generally happy with the mod package overall and like the performance improvement in general, just a few downsides folks should be aware of.

Actually Magnaflow is one of the quieter mufflers on the market as far as performance mufflers go. Could you imagine the racket you'd have with a couple of 40 series flowmasters underneath? One trick is to put the mufflers as far back as possible before the rear axle. That makes a difference. If they're under the cab or right at the cab to bed break, they're gonna be loud no matter what muffler you use. I found that taping up two of the three rear cab vent columns helped also. That way it reduces the noise, and your ears don't pop when you shut the door.,,,,98
I remember my Dad getting a new work truck once, before they figured out the whole pressure relief idea. The cab was so airtight, that your ears would pop if you closed the doors with the windows up......
