Need advice, cause I don't know.

Just need some imput on whether or not I should use Graphite or "dead soft" metal Header Gaskets for a Supercharged 4.6L.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Talking header gaskets

In answer to your question I would recommend the soft metal gaskets if you plan on removing and re-using the gaskets again. The graphoil gaskets are just fine if you plan on leaving the headers in place once installing. Either set need re-torqing after initial 20 minute warm up, then after 500 miles and again after 1000 miles to prevent leakage. This is due to the expansion/contraction of the headers.

By the way I have over 45 years in the Exhaust industry and own a reputable shop in the San Diego Ca. area. Just thought I had better mention this so you don't think I'm some kook giving lame advice.

Good luck and may your "Pipe Dreams Come True"

Thanks for the advice, Ed. Actually I have teh Stage 8 locking bolts, so re-torque isn't required, but the info on the gaskets is helpful.

Thanks again,
