catalytic converters

Just got back from the muffler shop to investigate a leaking d/s exhaust manifold. They told me the cat. converters on both sides were plugged. They wanted $1700.cdn for new cats. I was told the trucks computer would not allow removal of the cats. due to up and downstream o2 sensors. Has anyone tried this or have any other ideas.

You could at least find a better price for those cats. You can get a pair of high-flow cats from TroyerPerformance.com for under $200 (USD).
