Ever thought of trying out a Dynomax Race Bullet??
I too was tempted to try out a glasspack but didn't really want all the popping and crackly noises. My Dynomax Race Bullet is quite similar to a glasspack but has a bit of different tone to it. Check it out:

I put Dual Sweet Talkers on my 1976 F150 4X4 390. That thing is really loud.

Ya know those look similar to the muffler that JC Whitney sells. It looks like a glasspack but has the same setup as a turbo muffler. I'm guessing they have a deep mellow sound.

I've never heard them but Magnaflow has stainless Magnapacks. They may last longer than your average glasspack?

It has a very deep idle. It gets very loud and rappy when accelerating though.
